Testing of fire hydrants and internal fire-fighting water supply in Tashkent

Testing of fire hydrants and internal fire water supply is an important part of ensuring the fire safety of buildings and structures. Even if there is a serviceable fire alarm system and automatic fire extinguishing systems, insufficient water pressure or a malfunction of the fire-fighting water supply can significantly complicate the elimination of a fire.

Fire hydrants are designed for water intake by fire fighting equipment from an outdoor water supply network. The internal fire-fighting water supply system provides water supply to the fire taps located inside the building. Both systems must be in working condition and provide the necessary water supply parameters in the event of a fire.

The tests are especially relevant for industrial enterprises, warehouse complexes, shopping malls, hotels, multi-storey buildings, educational institutions and other facilities in Tashkent where fire-fighting water supply is provided.

How are fire hydrants and fire cranes tested?

The inspection of fire hydrants begins with a visual inspection of the equipment. Experts assess the condition of the housing, lid, threaded connections, locking mechanisms and the availability of the hydrant for fire equipment. The possibility of opening and closing the device, the absence of mechanical damage and water leaks is checked.

The main stage of the tests is to determine the actual parameters of the water supply. The water pressure and flow rate are checked using special measuring equipment. The results obtained are compared with the indicators established by the project documentation and applicable regulatory requirements.

When testing the internal fire-fighting water supply, fire taps, shut-off valves, hoses, connecting heads and fire barrels are checked. Special attention is paid to the most unfavorably located points of water intake, where the pressure may be minimal.

If the system is equipped with fire pumps, their start-up, operating parameters and interaction with control devices are additionally checked. Tests can reveal insufficient pressure, clogged pipelines, faulty fittings and other violations that can affect the effectiveness of fire extinguishing.

Based on the results of the inspection, technical documentation is drawn up indicating the measured parameters, identified malfunctions and recommendations for their elimination.

Testing of fire-fighting water supply in Tashkent

Periodic inspection of fire hydrants and internal fire-fighting plumbing allows timely detection of malfunctions, maintenance of equipment in working order and reduction of the risk of system failure in case of fire.

The frequency and procedure of testing are determined by the current requirements of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the design documentation and the operating conditions of a particular facility. Inspections are also necessary after repairs, reconstructions, or changes to the fire-fighting water supply scheme.

Our company offers testing services for fire hydrants and indoor fire water supply in Tashkent. We carry out an inspection of the equipment, measurement of pressure and water flow, checking the operability of fire cranes and pumping units, troubleshooting and registration of test results.
