Fire risk assessment is an engineering service that confirms the safety of a facility not by formally fulfilling all requirements, but by calculating real-life fire and evacuation scenarios.
building geometry and functional zoning;
fire initiation and development scenarios;
operation of smoke extraction, alarm, and warning systems;
smoke and temperature spread dynamics;
real evacuation routes and speeds;
the likelihood of human exposure to hazardous factors.
The assessment is used at facilities where strict compliance with all SP requirements is impossible or economically impractical: retail and office buildings, warehouses, industrial premises, and facilities after reconstruction or redevelopment.
It is also used at the design stage to justify decisions and, if necessary, to coordinate deviations with regulatory authorities.
